Tammy Profile
We moved to Brandon 10 years ago with four young children and opened the first free standing Chick-fil-A restaurant. We didn’t know anyone and had to hire and train 50 plus employees in six short weeks. We soon learned we were going to love Brandon. Tom Reagan came to visit us in our hiring trailer to welcome us and introduce us to the Brandon Chamber. We decided to join on the spot and it has proved to be a great and long lasting relationship.
With four young children in school we soon saw a need for incentives and rewards for both students and teacher’s. Over the past 10 years we have been a business partner with most of the Brandon area schools; we sponsor character education by donating about $12,000 of materials, for both students and their teachers, at 16 local elementary schools each year. We also reward perfect attendance, honor roll, and other various achievements. We also provide food and drinks for field days, school carnivals, teacher luncheons, and PTA events. We annually participate in “Great American Teach-In” and we have been awarded the school business partner of the year by numerous schools over the past 10 years. Tammy works with both Bloomingdale and Newsome High School in the business department as a mentor and was inducted into the National Technical Honor Society at Newsome this past spring. Tammy has also served on the education committee at the Brandon Chamber for 3 years (2000-2004). We were awarded the School-to-Careers Business Partnership for Technical and Career Education of the year for 2005-2006, Hillsborough County. In 2004 we were also awarded for both Bevis and Alafia Elementary School Business Partnerships.
In the community Paul and Tammy Holmberg are known for their willingness to help with charitable events, donations of food and volunteering their time. Some groups we work with regularly are; Echo outreach, Brandon Care Pregnancy Center, American Cancer Society, Leukemia Society, Center Place for the Arts, Lighthouse Ministries and local church groups as well as Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and the YMCA. We were nominated for Volunteer of the year for 2005. We were also a finalist for the Brandon Chamber 2003 Small Business of the Year Award.
As husband and wife, business partners, we have definite strengths and weaknesses. Paul sets the vision for our business and Tammy builds the relationships, it is truly a team effort that has given us such great success. We have been awarded many plaques and honors over the past 10 years and we appreciate each one and we look forward to continuing to serve Brandon.
